BraveSteps can be used anonymously. For non-subscribers and anonymous users, we primarily gather app usage data.   • Survey responses about milestones achieved

We ask for your explicit permission before collecting any of this data. In addition, we may gather crash reports to improve the stability and performance of the app.

To create an account, you will need to provide an email address. Optionally, you can upload a profile photo.
We also collect technical details such as IP addresses, app versions, and platform information to improve app performance and usability.

 
Subscription Account Data

For subscribed users, we offer secure cloud backups. This allows us to store information such as addiction types, sobriety dates, and motivational messages in the cloud. Some of the data you share might contain sensitive personal information regarding your physical or mental health.

We retain user data as long as your account is active or you have shown interest in our services. After your activity ends, we keep data for up to six years to comply with legal obligations. During and beyond this period, anonymized data may be used to improve our products and services.
